Fordham Rams
History
The 03'-04' Season
The 2003-04 Fordham University men’s basketball schedule features a
sixteen-game Atlantic 10 Conference schedule and 12 home games,
including a game against Western Kentucky.
Over half of Forhdam’s 2003-04 opponents saw postseason action last
year. Seven teams went to the NCAA Tournament (Dayton, Holy Cross,
Memphis, Manhattan, Saint Joseph’s, Western Kentucky and Xavier) while
seven others received bids to the NIT (Boston University, Fairfield,
Rhode Island, Richmond, Temple and Western Michigan)
Fordham’s Atlantic 10 schedule includes home-and-home games with east
division foes Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Saint Joseph’s, St.
Bonaventure and Temple. From the west division, Dayton, George
Washington and La Salle will visit the Rose Hill Gym, while the Rams
will travel to Duquesne, Richmond, and Xavier.
In non-conference play, the Rams will open the season with a trip to
Memphis where the Rams will take on the Memphis University Tigers, led
by head coach John Calipari. Fordham will play seven of its eleven
non-conference games on the road including trips to perennial rivals
Holy Cross, Iona and Manhattan as well as trips to Siena, Fairfield and
Western Michigan. Local fans will see the Rams host Northeastern in the
home-opener on December 6th as well as Boston University, Western
Kentucky and Columbia.
Fordham will be led into the season by first year head coach Dereck
Whittenburg, who takes over at Fordham after four years at Wagner
College where he led the Seahawks to the Northeast Conference
Championship last year and their first ever appearance in the NCAA
Tournament.
The Fight Song
Hail! men of Fordham, hail! on to the fray!
Once more our foes assail in strong array.
Once more the old Maroon, waves on high
We'll sing our battle song.
We do or die.
With a Ram, a Ram, a Ram for victory
With a Ram, a Ram, a Ram for loyalty.
To the fight, to fight,
To win our laurels bright!
Hail! men of Fordham, hail! on to the fray!
Once more our foes assail in strong array.
Once more the old Maroon, waves on high
We'll sing our battle song.
We do or die.
