Southern Miss Fight Song
Southern To The Top
Southern Mississippi to the top! To the top,
So lift your voices high, Show them the reason why,
That Southern spirit will never stop.
Fight! Fight! Fight!
Southern Mississippi all the way, banners high
And we will Fight! Fight! Fight! to victory,
Hear our battle cry!
"On Game Day ... Go Gold!"
Southern Miss fans will affectionately recall the thrills and excitement
from the 1997
Liberty Bowl. One of the off-field highlights from this 41-7 victory
over
Pittsburgh took place during the postgame news conference. Head Coach
Jeff
Bower visited with the media and described the sensation he felt as he
paused
briefly during the third quarter and gazed up into the stands and viewed
what he alluded to as a “sea of gold.” Hence the establishment of a new
effort to capitalize on these
emotions simply stated as
“On Game Day … Go Gold!”
The “On Game Day… Go
Gold” campaign has been designed to enhance
the atmosphere in The Rock and other Southern Miss Athletic functions.
The campaign has been developed and inspired from experiences that all
Southern Miss fans cans draw from. As the calling card of the campaign
states “On Game Day… Go Gold” the desired result is simple. Wear
your gold, break it out of the drawer, pull it from the closet, pick it
up at
your favorite Southern Miss licensed retailer! But most importantly “On
Game Day … Go Gold!” |
